Bitten By A Sea Turtle

Bungee jumping, zip lining, sky diving, going on an African safari…these are some of the popular bucket list items.

Not mentioned above but definitely on our bucket list was….you guessed it….

….swimming with turtles.🐢

During our trip to Barbados in 2025, booking a Catamaran cruise with Silvermoon Catamaran made this possible.

But as you can tell by the photos and title of this article, the bucket list doesn’t always go as planned.

……that only 1 in 1000 baby turtle hatchlings reach adulthood? Many predators including birds and fish prey on the baby hatchlings who are trying to make it from the shore to the each ocean.

Ok back to the story

We set sail heading north...

…traveling from St. Michael, Shallow Draught, Bridgetown up the West Coast, St. James. The crew provides educational content related to the history and geography of the Barbados coastlines.

Mally, our captain mixes in some jokes with the educational content.

The music selection was also a nice mix of reggae, pop, R&B, blues and even some classic rock hits.🎵
